DMC Colour Variations can be used by stitchers of all skill levels and with all embroidery techniques. The stunning multi-coloured thread allows you to create a subtly colourful piece without ever having to change thread.
It has been double mercerized for a gorgeous sheen. This beautiful thread is made up of six size 25 easily separated strands, which allows you to customize the thickness of the thread by choosing the number of strands. Made from 100% long staple cotton, the thread is not only fade resistant, it also has guaranteed colour consistency from one skein to the next.
For counted cross stitch designs you can form your stitches in two ways:
- One cross stitch at a time: this will give you more control over the placement of the variation in the thread.
- The Standard Method: This refers to stitching a row of half cross stitches in a row from left to right, completing each stitch on the return. This will create a "tweeded" or blended look of mixed colors.
